Not a Conference of
Spectators

The 2026 CI Mavericks Strategic Conference convenes Joint Venture members, advisors, and invited specialists for two days of frank, working conversations about the systems we are no longer willing to depend on — and the assets, structures, and operating companies we are building in their place.

Each session pairs a focused lecture from an outside specialist or internal principal with structured small-group solutioning. The intent is twofold: bring credible outside perspective into the room, and walk out with concrete decisions, candidate targets, and ranked priorities that direct capital deployment in the segregated portfolios.

Day One examines the failing systems that frame our investment thesis. Day Two turns inward to the structure, valuation methodology, and tax architecture of the CI Mavericks vehicles — then forward into acquisition targets and treasury management.

  • A working understanding of the macro conditions driving the CI Mavericks investment thesis
  • A clearer view of the SPC and JV architecture, quarterly NAV valuation methodology, and legal & tax framework
  • A vetted, member-ranked shortlist of active acquisition candidates for the segregated portfolios
  • A ranked set of treasury options for capital sitting between deployments
  • Direct relationships with outside specialists, counsel, and operating partners advising the firm

Corporate Structure & Services
Two 30-minute presentations from the sponsoring entities supporting the JV companies. The second covers the corporate services provided to the SPC and JV structures — administration, governance, and ongoing compliance.
9:30 – 10:30
Session 5b
Quarterly NAV Valuation Methodology & Accounting Services
Walk-through of the quarterly NAV valuation model used for the JV and SPC interests, including the discount methodology applied to minority JV positions and the cost-to-recreate framework supporting the Intangible Asset Register. Open discussion follows on the model itself and on the broader accounting and reporting services available to JV members.

Break
Mid-Morning Coffee
10:45 – 12:45
Session 6
Legal Structure and Tax Architecture

Hospitality
Working Lunch
Catered lunch.
1:45 – 3:45
Session 7 — Shark Tank
Acquisition of Active Company Assets
Members break into small groups to surface and develop candidate acquisition targets and investment domains. Groups reconvene; each group pitches its top candidate(s) to the room. The full membership acts as the Shark Tank, debates each pitch, and votes to rank-order the candidates. Ranked output becomes a working pipeline for follow-up diligence.

Session 8 — Shark Tank
Treasury Options for Portfolio Capital
Same format applied to a different question: when capital sits in a segregated portfolio between deployments, where should it be held? Small groups develop and pitch treasury options — instruments, custodians, jurisdictions, and concentration limits. Full membership debates and ranks the options. Session closes with synthesis remarks from the Director: confirmed action items, ranked pipeline, ranked treasury options, and follow-up cadence.
